      Q*bert  is an arcade video game developed and published by Gottlieb in 1982. It is a 2D action game with puzzle elements is a 2D action game with puzzle elements that uses "isometric" graphics to create a pseudo-3D effect, and serves as a precursor to the isometric platformer genre. The object is to change the color of every cube in a pyramid by making the on-screen character hop on top of the cube while avoiding obstacles and enemies. Players use a joystick to control the character.

    • Q-Bert became one of the most merchandised arcade games behind Pac-Man and Donkey Kong, a true iconic arcade classic of the 1980's
      Electronic Games awarded Q*bert "Most Innovative Coin-op Game" of the year.[20] Video Game Player called it the "Funniest Game of the Year" among arcade games in 1983.[21]
      Several early units were shipped with @!?@ on the marquee instead of Qbert, and is referred to as the "swearing" marquee. Part of this games unique charm is the pure gibberish that comes out of the machines speech synthesizer.
