RetroArcade.com is a small, independent editorial team that documents the golden age of arcade games, the consoles that brought them home, and the real-world arcades where you can still drop a quarter today. We research, write, photograph, and map — and we take all three seriously.
Open Positions
We don’t have any open staff roles right now. When that changes, this page will say so plainly — we won’t post evergreen “always hiring” listings that go nowhere.
Freelance Pitches — Always Welcome
While we’re not hiring staff, we do work with freelancers, and we’re genuinely interested in hearing from:
- Retro gaming writers — deeply researched pieces on arcade history, hardware, restoration, or the culture around specific games. Bring receipts: sources, dates, and firsthand knowledge beat nostalgia every time.
- Arcade photographers — cabinet shots, venue interiors, and marquee details from working arcades. We credit every image.
- Venue scouts — people who actually visit arcades and can tell us what’s on the floor, what works, and what’s changed since the last listing.
How to Pitch
Send a short note through our contact page: who you are, what you want to cover, and a link or two to prior work if you have it. A tight three-sentence pitch beats a long résumé. We read everything, and we reply to pitches we can use.
No recruiter outreach, please — there are no roles to fill.
